Hi, and Welcome to The Plantas Pod: Bold Strategies for Visionary Entrepreneurs. I am your host, Daniella Allam, and I'm thrilled to have you join me on this exciting journey of purpose-driven entrepreneurship. In this podcast, we’ll feature inspiring conversations with visionary entrepreneurs in the world of consumer packaged goods (CPG) and beyond. We'll hear their stories, learn from their experiences, and discuss the bold strategies that have propelled their success.
I can't wait to share the incredible stories and insights that lie ahead, but before we dive in, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and the vision behind the podcast.
I've spent the last decade dedicated to the world of CPG, particularly with food, beverage and wellness brands as a marketer, brand manager, strategist, and innovator. I started my consulting business Plantas in 2021 with a vision to support plant-powered emerging brands with the strategy and marketing needed to scale their businesses. The bulk of my work centers around consulting and advising purpose-driven CPG businesses, helping them navigate the complexities of the industry and realize their full potential. I've worked with over 30 brands and can proudly say I have generated millions of dollars of value for the brands and clients I have worked with.
Throughout my CPG career, I have seen and done it all, let me tell you. I've launched new products and line extensions. I've discontinued brands and products. I've gained distribution. I've lost distribution. I've come up with ways to increase velocity. I've had to answer to executives and board members when Velocity has declined. I've worked on packaging refreshes, reformulations. Inventory issues, pricing issues, you name it.
My greatest joy, however, has been supporting small-scale entrepreneurs, and especially BIPOC founders, who very often lack the tools, resources, and industry knowledge to succeed in a space as competitive as CPG. It is from that place that this podcast was created – to share, through these casual conversations with our expert guests, some of the best practices, tips and tricks for budding entrepreneurs building companies with purpose.
So whether you are just planting the seeds of your business or you’re a seasoned entrepreneur, I hope you will find the conversations to be valuable and empowering as you grow your business.
Because the journey of entrepreneurship, particularly in the CPG space, is not easy, but it can be very rewarding. This is especially true when your North Star or guiding principle is to create a business with real impact, for yourself, your family, your community and the world at large.
So thank you for joining me on journey, and stay tuned for the juicy conversations and valuable insights from our guests. Until next time!
